VELA links Zurich with five destinations in northern and eastern Europe. Helsinki is served ten times a week, Riga, Gothenburg and Poznań every day, and Aberdeen from Monday to Friday. Aberdeen and Poznań are new to the network. With them, VELA offers 36 flights a week in each direction on these five routes.

Morning flights to Helsinki, Riga and Gothenburg

Most flights to Helsinki, Riga and Gothenburg leave Zurich between 06:40 and 07:25 and arrive during the morning. Helsinki, the northernmost point of the network, has a flight every day and a second one on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Riga has an evening departure at 17:45 on Fridays, Gothenburg on Thursdays. Helsinki and Riga are one hour ahead of Zurich; Gothenburg keeps the same time.

New: Aberdeen and Poznań

Aberdeen is the second VELA destination in the United Kingdom, after Bristol. Flights leave Zurich at 07:00 from Tuesday to Friday and at 17:45 on Mondays. The United Kingdom is one hour behind Zurich, so the morning flight arrives in Scotland at the start of the day.

Poznań, in western Poland, is the first VELA destination in the country. The Airbus A319 flies the route once a day: at 07:00 on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, around midday on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and at 17:45 on Wednesdays.

“Northern and eastern Europe are well within reach of Zurich. None of these flights is longer than three hours, which makes them practical for a short trip as well as a longer stay.”

VELA Network Planning

On all five routes, Business guests have a free neighbouring seat and Economy is arranged three seats either side of the aisle. Departure days and times are listed in the timetable.
