Three Canary Islands are now part of the VELA network. From Zurich, the Airbus A321 flies to Tenerife South seven times a week and to Lanzarote four times a week. La Palma is served three times a week on a triangle routing via Tenerife South.

On the island by mid-morning

All flights to the Canary Islands leave Zurich early in the morning, at 06:10 on most days, and reach Tenerife and Lanzarote between nine and ten o’clock local time. The scheduled flight time is 4 hours 10 minutes to Tenerife and 3 hours 55 minutes to Lanzarote. The return flights leave the islands during the morning and land in Zurich in the afternoon.

La Palma: a triangle via Tenerife

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, one Tenerife flight continues to La Palma. The aircraft leaves Zurich at 06:10, lands at Tenerife South at 09:20 and departs again at 10:10 for the 45-minute flight to La Palma, arriving at 10:55. The return flight leaves La Palma at 11:45 and flies nonstop to Zurich in 4 hours 10 minutes, landing at 16:55.

From Tenerife South, four flights a week return to Zurich nonstop, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

“La Palma would be difficult to serve on its own. Combining it with Tenerife gives the island three flights a week and a nonstop return to Zurich.”

VELA Network Planning

The A321 is the largest aircraft in the VELA short-haul fleet. In Business the neighbouring seat stays free; Economy is arranged three seats either side of the aisle. Departure days and times for all three islands are listed in the timetable.
