On board

Two cabins, and a seat you choose yourself

Every VELA flight is operated by an Airbus A319, A320 or A321, with Business at the front and Economy behind it. You pick your seat when you book, and your boarding pass is ready the moment you confirm.

Business

A window or an aisle, never the middle

Business is the front of the cabin: the first two to four rows, depending on the aircraft type.

The seats are three abreast on either side of the aisle, and the middle seat of each group is never sold. Every Business guest sits at a window or on the aisle, with the seat beside them left empty.

A Business row. The outlined middle seats stay free on every flight.

Economy

Three and three, with more room at the exits

Economy begins directly behind Business and runs to the last row. There are three seats on either side of the aisle, lettered A to F: A and F are at the window, C and D on the aisle.

The rows at the emergency exits offer extra legroom. They are marked on the seat map and can be chosen like any other seat.

An Economy row: three seats, the aisle, three seats.

Choose your seat

The seat map shows the cabin of your flight

Every booking includes a seat of your choice. The map is drawn for the aircraft type scheduled on your flight and shows which seats are still free.

  1. Find your flight

Search by route and day in the flight search, then choose “Select seat” on the flight you would like to take.

  2. Pick a date and a seat

Choose one of the next departures of that flight and select a free seat. Business, the exit rows and seats already taken are marked on the map.

  3. Add your name

Enter the name for the boarding pass and confirm. That is the whole booking: no account and no app are needed.

Your boarding pass

Issued in your browser, the moment you confirm

As soon as you confirm your seat, your boarding pass opens in the browser. It shows your flight, the date and your seat, the gate and the boarding time, and it carries a QR code and your booking reference.

Boarding begins 30 minutes before departure. The pass has its own web address, so you can reopen it at any time or keep it as a bookmark on your phone.

On an iPhone, the pass can also be added to Apple Wallet from the boarding pass page.

A specimen, drawn for the next departure of flight VE4202. Your own pass carries your name and your booking reference.

The aircraft

One Airbus family, three lengths

All three types share the same cabin width, the same seat layout and a single aisle. What changes is the number of rows.

VELA is a virtual airline

Our flights take place in flight simulation, not in the real sky. A booking is free of charge and reserves a virtual seat. The boarding pass is a keepsake, not a travel document, and it is not valid at any airport.
