The crew platform: the apps behind every VELA flight

A new section of our website shows the tools VELA pilots fly with, from the roster and the electronic flight bag to charts, the tracker and the logbook.

Operational flight plan and coffee on the flight deck table

What does it take to run a virtual airline like a real one? A new section of our website answers that question. The crew platform shows the applications and services VELA pilots use, from the first look at the roster to the closing entry in the logbook.

One flight, end to end

Crew Access holds the roster, the bids and the check-in. On the day, vIFM, our electronic flight bag on the iPad, brings together the flight plan, weather, NOTAMs and the route map. VELA Charts, VELA TakeOff and simOLB cover charts, take-off performance and the onboard library, and the VELA ACARS Tracker reports the flight live. After landing, the flight is closed with a report straight from vIFM.

  • Crew Access and VELA Roster: duties, bids, roster changes and the crew ID
  • vIFM: the electronic flight bag for every flight
  • VELA Charts, VELA TakeOff and simOLB: charts, performance and documents
  • VELA ACARS Tracker and VELA Content Hub: live tracking, liveries and downloads
  • vOPS and MAVIS: the cabin and the technical side of the fleet

“Most of what makes VELA feel like an airline happens before and after the flight. The crew platform is where we show that work.”

VELA Flight Operations

Each application has its own page with what it does and how it fits into the day of a VELA pilot. Every tool shown there is one VELA pilots actually fly with.
