The VELA fleet has grown from 14 to 21 aircraft. The five widebodies announced in September are now part of the fleet: two Airbus A330-200, two Airbus A330-300 and one Airbus A340-300. They are joined by two Airbus A321neo, the newest aircraft VELA flies.

Long-haul from November
The widebodies fly the new long-haul routes from Zurich. The A330-200, the shorter of the two A330 versions and the one with the longest range, is planned to San Diego and Chennai; the A330-300 flies to Atlanta, Ottawa and Almaty, and the four-engined A340-300 to Cape Town. All three types seat Business, Economy Max and Economy.
The A321neo
The two A321neo were built in 2023. They are recognisable by their larger Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines and the Sharklets at the wingtips. Inside, they share the cabin of the A321, with 202 seats in Business and Economy, and fly alongside it on our longest European routes and the holiday services.
Across the fleet, VELA now offers 4,162 seats. All 21 aircraft are based in Zurich.
