VELA Airlines now operates 14 aircraft on its short-haul network: two Airbus A319, seven Airbus A320 and five Airbus A321. All are based in Zurich, and all belong to the same single-aisle family, which keeps the experience on board consistent whichever aircraft operates a flight.

One cabin standard
Every aircraft in the fleet has the same two-class cabin. In Business, at the front of the cabin, the seat next to you stays free. Economy is arranged three seats either side of the aisle. Seats in the exit rows offer extra legroom.
The right size for each route
Three sizes of aircraft allow the timetable to match capacity to demand. The A319, the smallest of the three, flies to Clermont-Ferrand, Eindhoven, Pamplona and Poznań. The A320 is the backbone of the fleet and serves twelve destinations, among them Florence, Cologne, Dresden and Bilbao. The A321, the largest, flies to Athens, Helsinki, Istanbul and Menorca, and to the Canary Islands, the longest routes in the network.
With 14 aircraft, VELA can operate its full timetable: 405 flights a week across a network of 23 destinations in 13 countries and territories.
“A single aircraft family means one cabin, one way of working and a great deal of flexibility. If a route needs more seats on a given day, a larger aircraft can take over, and guests find the cabin they expected.”
More about each of the three aircraft types can be found on the fleet page. The cabin, in Business and in Economy, is described under On board.
