Takeoff performance
VELA TakeOff
Takeoff figures for every runway. Runway- and weight-based takeoff calculations for the fleet, with engine-out procedures and acceleration altitudes for every VELA airport.

About VELA TakeOff
VELA TakeOff follows the layout of the performance tablets used on the Airbus flight deck: enter the conditions of the day, choose the runway, and get thrust setting, configuration and speeds for your aircraft.
The airport data comes from VELA’s own airport database: runway lengths, noise abatement procedure, acceleration altitude and the engine-out procedure for each runway. It is built into the app, so it works without a connection.
What it does
What VELA TakeOff does for you
- 01
Your aircraft and runway
Select the fleet type and the runway; the app knows the runways of every VELA airport.
- 02
Conditions of the day
Wind, temperature, QNH, a wet or dry runway, anti-ice, packs and takeoff weight go in like on the real tablet.
- 03
Thrust, configuration and speeds
FLEX or TOGA thrust, the flap configuration and V1, VR and V2 for the conditions you entered.
- 04
Engine-out procedures
The engine-out procedure and acceleration altitudes for each runway, maintained with the airport data of the network.
- 05
Works offline
All airport and runway data is on the iPad, so a calculation never waits for the network.
Good to know
The performance figures come from VELA’s own model for flight simulation, not from certified manufacturer data.
One platform
VELA TakeOff works with
The apps share one crew login and one database, so what you do in one reaches the others.
